A strong earthquake struck near Mandalay, Myanmar around 12:50 local time on Friday, March 28, causing tremors that were felt in several other nations. This video shows the premises of Mandalay University filled with smoke as a fire broke out after the quake. The earthquake resulted in at least 3,500 deaths in Myanmar. The powerful tremors led to widespread destruction, including collapsed buildings, downed bridges, and buckled roads, with the most severe damage concentrated in central Myanmar.
